Vinyl Siding End

A piece of siding is installed. Notice the end 1-1/2 inches does not have a nail strip. The trimmed end allows two pieces of siding to overlap one another.

Also note, the siding is fastened using roofing galvanized roofing nails. Each nail is left sticking out about a 1/4 inch. This allows for expansion and contraction.

Overlapping Vinyl Siding

The next piece of siding is overlapped by 2 to 3 inches. Make sure the nailing strip doesn't butt up against the mating piece of siding, yet leaving enough of the siding end to slip under the adjoining nailing strip.
